CAROLINA REAPER was ranked the hottest pepper in the world by Guinness World Records according to tests of 2013, with an average of 1,569,300 million SHU on Scoville scale, with peak levels of more than 2,200,000 million SHU.
It is also called “HP22B” (scientific name) originated from Fort Mill, South Carolina (USA), created by Ed Currie, an American peppers grower.
This pepper is so strong, that the use of gloves is mandatory. If not handled properly, it may temporarily damage the skin tissue and eyes. So it is one of the strongest peppers in the world.
2) TRINIDAD MORUGA SCORPION (2,009,231 SHU)
The name pepper because of its origin, the district of Moruga in Trinidad and Tobago. According to the Pepper Institute of the State University of New Mexico, pepper reached 2,009,231 units in the Scoville Heat Scale.
